Crisis: Short summers ends, frost is coming (again)
September 2nd, 2009 by martinehlThere are big headlines about historical debate on the origins and first weeks of the Second World War ongoing now due to visit of Russian Prime Minister in Poland. Expectations were maybe too high from his speech, but at least in Poland debate about historical policy overshadowed recent economic development. With beggining of September, many budget cuts in Baltics and Poland went into effect and heating season approaching, now there is gonna be test of integrity for politicians: to manage growing social unrest with situation, while predictions tend to be optimistic in media and are still pessimist among experts. Recent estimation of SEB bank, second largest bank in Baltics, predicts situation could even get worse - because austerity measures are cutting domestic demand. Therefore after short Baltic summer, cold is again approaching (not only from Kremlin version of WWII history) . Report on SEB predictions see here.
